NIRA authorized to officiate civil marriages
A law was passed by Parliament yesterday that gives the National Identification and Registration Authority (NIRA) to perform civil marriages instead of the Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB). The responsibility of registering all faith-based and customary marriages will also fall to NIRA.
