President Museveni pledges collaboration with Boeing company
At the statehouse in Entebbe yesterday, President Museveni met with a delegation from the Boeing Company led by Mr. Kuljit Ghata-Aura, President of Boeing-Middle East, Turkey, Africa, and Central Asia.
Boeing is a prominent multinational aerospace corporation that designs, produces, and maintains commercial aircraft, defense equipment, and space systems for clients across more than 150 nations.
Boeing also a leading exporter from the United States, makes use of the skills of a worldwide network of suppliers to promote community impact, sustainability, and economic opportunity.
A statement from the statehouse states that President Museveni told the Boeing group that Uganda was prepared to work with them to develop the aviation industry in the country.
President Museveni was notified by Mr. Ghata that the company has assembled a comprehensive aviation system package to support Uganda’s aviation development and infrastructure.
According to his X formerly twitter handle, The president noted that, “We have plans to increase the Uganda Airlines fleet for both cargo and passenger aircraft. On fleet maintenance, I welcome the idea of having some light maintenance here initially. Where applicable, we hope to utilize existing capacity for maintenance service in brotherly countries like Ethiopia until our fleet grows to allow us to have it done fully in Uganda”.
The Presidential Advisory Committee on Exports and Industrial Development (PACEID), led by Mr. Odrek Rwabwogo, a Senior Presidential Advisor with Special Duties cordinated the meeting.
