MTN Uganda pledges to tackle public concerns over swift data consumption
As demonstrated by the online campaign known as #datatheftexhibition, MTN Uganda has acknowledged the public’s outcry and stated its commitment to resolving specific issues related to data depletion.
A statement has been released by MTN Uganda in response to the many complaints from Ugandans, including well-known celebrities, about how quickly their data GBs are being used up.
According to the company, “MTN Uganda takes these concerns very seriously and is dedicated to addressing them”.
The telecom company also assured its clients that it is prepared to offer assistance via a variety of platforms, such as social media, toll-free phone numbers, and physical service centers.
Consumers are urged to contact the company via a variety of channels, including Twitter, WhatsApp, toll-free numbers, and physical service centers, highlighting its commitment to guaranteeing client happiness.
The Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) Executive Director, George William Thembo Nyombi, recently highlighted the gravity of data billing and usage integrity issues and provided information on ongoing investigations into the matter.
Nyombi emphasized that investigations had revealed a number of factors contributing to this widespread issue.
Singer Moses Ssali, better known by his stage name Bebe Cool, threatened to sue Airtel Uganda, a telecom provider, in February of this year after his mobile phone number’s 22GB of data ran out quickly even though he wasn’t using it.
Recently, Priscilla Zawedde, better known by her stage name Azawi, expressed concerns to Airtel about the same problem.
She disclosed that, in spite of not using the 22GB of purchased data for streaming or any other purpose, it had expired in two days.
