Legislators pursue discussion on the implementation of fisheries regulations
In order to discuss and approve regulations allowing the Fisheries and Aquaculture Act to be implemented, members of parliament who represent fishing communities have requested a meeting with the state minister of fisheries.
According to them, it is unlawful to implement a number of rules on the lakes without consulting the public. Hellen Adoa, the state minister of fisheries, announced last week that the ministry had discontinued the ‘Hurry Up’ method of silverfish harvesting.
